Stuart Clarke Software publishers do have the oddest ideas about the English language: one giveaway site after another is stuffed with retail products offered for nowt but which then cease to function after 3 months / 6 months / 12 months. The terms of the current offer are quite different, and outlined in the Fine Print. There was a warning that the software can only be installed and registered on the promotion day, and cannot be reinstalled or transferred to another computer. The terms and conditions of that offer were quite different from those here. The copy of the software you obtained a while ago was offered on a different website (SharewareOnSale to be exact). So it's a good idea to clarify the license point here. Unfortunately, we cannot change the whole phrase in the Fine Print as there are phrase templates applied to every product (we can only choose the period etc.).
The correct statement would be as follows: After you download a free copy of SmartSHOW during the BitsDuJour promotion, it may be used for 12 months and will not function after that unless you renew your subscription.
